GREENWOOD
UNDERGROUND
A BROOKLYN MIXING, MASTERING, AND RECORDING STUDIO
RUN BY EIVIND OPSVIK
Located in Greenwood Heights, Brooklyn, Greenwood Underground is a 750 square feet mixing, mastering, and recording studio with a warm, welcoming feel. The studio is run by me, Eivind Opsvik, I’m a Norwegian bassist, composer, and audio engineer who has been living in NYC for over two decades.
My musicianship has always run parallel to and been mutually inspired by a love of recording and the studio. Since the beginning of my career I’ve been deeply involved with the recording, mixing and producing of my own albums. As my work gained recognition, other artists began to approach me for collaboration. Over the past fifteen years, I have gained a lot of experience and expertise in mixing, recording, producing, and mastering music for a diverse group of artists here at Greenwood Underground.
Having played in numerous bands and settings, I have developed a deep understanding of how instruments and sounds interact, and what gives music its energy and presence. This has greatly influenced my audio engineering approach. In all my work I strive to locate the sweet spot where the music effectively communicates the artist's intent and evokes the strongest emotional response.
